Perhaps not THAT well known but, fun fact, according to my Letterboxd stats, John Ratzenberger is my 10th most watched actor this seemed strange to me because I only remembered seeing him in Motel Hell and House 2, but then I realised he's been in pretty much every Pixar movie ever made.
Warlords of Atlantis is the kind of movie I wish I'd seen when I was about 7 or 8 because I would have loved all the monster action and the derring-do adventure.
And for what it's worth, I still enjoy movies like this because…. They are part of an ill fated underwater expedition in the late 's which obviously winds up in Atlantis.
However there's a few twists and turns along the way and the set design and monsters are quite well done. I may have been a bit mean with my score as it's definitely worth a look if you're in the mood for this sort of thing.
If you're starved for some old school special effects practical sea monsters, miniatures, rear-projection, matte paintings, etc.
