Following the sudden death of his wife, Michael decides to make his next film about the search for the existence of the supernatural, making himself the center of the experiment - allowing demonologists, necromancers, and various practitioners of the occult to try the deepest and darkest spells and rituals they can find on him - in the hopes that when they fail, he'll once and for all have proof that religion, spiritualism, and the paranormal are nothing more than myth.

I was highly skeptical but also bored and so I decided to give this film a try and I'm glad I did. After seeing the low score I was expecting something boring, with cheap scares and bad visual effects.
But quite the contrary, the main character acting is believable, visual effects though scarce are well made and add to the scariness of some scenes, and it's overall a refreshing horror flick that makes good use but doesn't abuse of the "found footage" format that is so popular in horror movies these days.
I was watching this movie with headphones on and at a moderate volume and after the first official scare I was nearly deaf.

Where most movies of this type fail is when the "threat" is revealed, and it's often some lame CG effect that is so overdone all suspense of disbelief vanishes.
This movie does not suffer from this problem. But the makers of this movie apparently did some research, because it featured accurate depictions of satanic rituals that many people perform in efforts to gain something they want or as an attack on someone else Firstly, we're approaching and information is widely abundant.

Atheists purport to live in denial of God's existence, often lumping Him together with anything "supernatural". They tell themselves this is some kind of intellectually progressive viewpoint, and that having it shows how "enlightened" they are in reality the opposite is true.
Delusion runs rampant in the minds of the so-called educated folk because they've been fed a bill of lies as if it were fact and truth, and they never question it so they're stuck a false world.
Back to the movie, and not trying to give anything away here, but the afflicted man claims he "tries everything" to rid himself of the demons in him, listing a few things like spells, protection charms, etc - items which themselves are satanic Yes, he tries everything except coming to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ - the ONLY thing that would help him - and that's what makes this movie dangerous.
It is falsely reinforcing a notion that once you are taken over by unclean spirits, typically demons, that there really is no hope when there is. True repentance of your sins, turning away from this world and its lusts, and turning toward Jesus Christ will lead you to faith.
As a child of God, you have authority over all unclean spirits, including demons and fallen angels So enjoy the movie but remember that you only have until you die to get YOUR house in order with the Father.
The gift of salvation and everlasting life is freely offered to anyone who repents, but anyone who does not will be judged according to their works That should actually scare you.
Enough with the found footage, self-held camera garbage. It worked for Blair Witch, as that was original. Anything since, and it just means you had no budget or no originality.
I got through 30min or so, and I was too hacked to continue. There was very little scary, just the sad gimmicks that make up the usual low-budget horror flicks that have been done a thousand times.
And after the fourth "jump scare," that does nothing but startle you, it was apparent this movie had nothing to offer beyond the mentality of a three year old that hides so they can jump out and yell boo to startle you.
This is the first time a movie made me feel strong to enough to actually write a review. Sadly, this one was that bad - repeat startles does not make a good horror movie even if the writer and director are three year olds!!
